UK and Japan sign Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement

The UK and Japan signed on 26 January an Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) to facilitate closer bilateral defence logistics support and co-operation during activities such as combined exercises, training, peacekeeping operations, and humanitarian aid and disaster relief missions, according to statements issued by the UK and Japanese governments.

"The agreement includes practical arrangements that will allow both countries' [armed] forces to share equipment, facilities, and services in a simpler and more efficient way. It covers the exchange of supplies and services, removing the need for individual agreements on a case by case basis," said the UK foreign ministry in a press release.
