Here is my latest for JAPAN Forward, or Sankei Shimbun's new English-language news and opinion website. I wrote about the necessity of the first-ever amendment to the country’s pacifist post-war constitution, as Japan is about to acquire the ability to strike enemy bases.

日本が敵基地攻撃能力の保有を目指すならば、憲法改正が必要との内容です。日本を取り巻く安全保障環境が厳しさを増すなか、日本は民主主義国家として、真っ向から王道を行って、きちんと憲法9条を改正したうえで、防衛力の整備を着々と進めていってほしいもの。解釈改憲の繰り返しで、憲法が形骸化するのが民主主義にとって最悪の事態になると思っております。
